New in AHS: Images in email branding
Today we’ve released another improvement to our email branding system for the AHS branded website hosting reseller system / online billing and invoicing system. Now anything from client support emails, invoices, statements can include your logo (and any other images you wish). We’re working on some major improvements to the branding systems which will make it easier for anyone to use features such as this without using the rather complicated Smarty-based template editor.
If you want to try out the invoice branding now, simply include any images in the template source code. As long as you have uploaded your branded image files (through the Upload screen in the Branding section). The images are included inline in the emails sent to your clients, and in the online version of the invoices too.

AHS as a free online billing system
This post is about the Lusion Automated Hosting Systems (AHS), our professional website hosting department in a box solution. While our Lusion AHS system was clearly designed as a web hosting company manager, it can be used as far more than that. All the web hosting features are independant of the billing options which can be used as an online billing manager – a free one at that.

Our SecureBill billing portal will allow your clients an easy way to check their account status, and if you choose – enter credit card details that we’ll automatically charge and pass the money on to you (we charge R2 + eight percent for that service – a little more than direct credit card services, but without any of the hassles). Our advanced template system will allow you to easily restyle our professional invoices, and if “suspending your account” (as phrased in our default past due warnings) does not apply to the services your company provides – you can simply allows you to reword the entire email should you wish.
All of this is accessible free of charge, and should you ever wish to add a website hosting department to your company on top of your already existing services – its only ever a couple clicks away (and no extra hassles for you – except of course checking your clients pay you and marking it off in our systems).

Reselling website hosting through Lusion Technologies
We’ve been getting a lot of queries about our custom reseller website hosting package (which we obviously believe is the best), so I’m going to take some time to explain it in more detail, which should hopefully answer most of the questions.
The idea behind the whole reseller setup, is that you can sell website hosting to your clients at your own prices, without having to manage invoicing or support for them. You can charge whatever you want, we’ll invoice your clients and you’ll keep 20% of our fee + whatever you charge on top of our fee.
As for your bank account, all your clients payments goes directly to you. Once they pay you, you’ll just need to mark them off as paid on our reseller system (thats the only “work” you need to do), and then we’ll invoice you for 80% of our fee.
If its their first payment, we’ll included a welcome email along with the payment processed email. If they don’t pay, we’ll send them a reminder and eventually suspend their account. You don’t need to worry about any of that stuff.
We realized one of the most important thing any reseller system needs to have is a way to allow full branding of all services. To do this we used an advanced template engine called Smarty. Our invoices, welcome emails and even support emails all run with templates, meaning you can change any detail you want; from simple stuff such as changing the company away from “Lusion Technologies” (obviously we expect you to do that), to literally changing the entire design if you wish.
You don’t really need to worry about the reseller template engine though. We have a R1000 setup fee for our reseller system, which includes the initial branding of all our reseller templates, and setting up of your custom control panel header.
Another big factor, is as one of our resellers you receive the highest levels of support. We maintain close contact with all of our resellers, and will help out as we can. With our custom reseller website hosting deal, we profit as you do, and with years of experience – we believe we can give an extended helping hand.
The last thing to note, is very soon we will be offering credit card services to our resellers. That is, your clients will be able to pay by credit card. If you’ve read thus far, the only work you are required to do is mark off when your clients pay and transfer the money to us. If we dealing with charging your clients via credit card (we use an anonymous ‘Web Hosting’ tag on their credit card receipt), you don’t have to do a thing besides get clients, and optionally watch your bank account as you receive the ultimate passive income.
