What is reseller hosting?
Reseller hosting is a branch of web hosting whereby the reseller is able to use a predetermined amount of hard drive space and bandwidth to host websites on behalf of third parties. The reseller purchases the hosting services at a discounted price and then sells them to customers. The reseller may do this in one of two ways, either by renting a dedicated server from a hosting company, or by reselling shared hosting services. In the latter of the two, the reseller is simply given the permission to sell a certain amount of disk space and bandwidth to his own clients without having to spend money on a dedicated server.
Typical applications for reseller hosting might be web design companies or web developers. Reseller hosting is also an inexpensive way for new hosting companies to get started.
